Waldläufer comfort shoes
More than just a shoe manufacturer

Perfect fit, lightweight materials and stylish design – for over 60 years that’s what we at Waldläufer have stood for. The Lugina shoe factory was founded in 1960 in the Palatinate Forest, and today we can count ourselves among the leading manufacturers in the comfort shoe sector. This success is made possible thanks to the balance between traditional craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technology as well as an extraordinary awareness for our environment and our fellow human beings. We are aware of our responsibility both towards our employees throughout Europe and towards nature. Waldläufer is therefore not only a shoe manufacturer, but also a responsible employer: here in the Palatinate Forest and at many other locations throughout Europe.

Highest quality materials from certified suppliers – the Waldläufer production facilities

In the production of our versatile comfort shoes, we value the use of only high-quality, preferably non-treated leather. To avoid long transport routes and to protect the climate, most of the leather we use originates from suppliers in Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Sustainable materials are also very important to us when it comes to our textile suppliers, which is reflected, for example, in the Ökotex certification of some fabrics or our membership of the CADS association. Cads is committed to the pollutant-free production of shoes. At Waldläufer, we are fundamentally committed to fair pay and long-term business relationships, which closes the circle to sustainability in our relationship with both employees and partners.

At Waldläufer, tradition and innovation go hand in hand

With passion, care and sensitivity, around 2.5 million pairs of shoes are created at our production sites every year. A number that would be impossible to manage without the appropriate technical equipment. But despite all the technology and automation, we do not forget our roots: the traditional shoemaker’s craft. While machine stitching is now the much more common method for shoes, we still rely on classic hand stitching for a large number of our Waldläufer models – the oldest traditional technique for joining leathers. Stitch by stitch, our employees join the materials together, making each shoe unique and ensuring that the quality is not only visible, but also tangible. Our Waldläufer represent the perfect combination of traditional craftsmanship and forward-thinking technology, with both comfort and design reflected to the highest level in each and every style.

Discover our versatile and stylish range of Waldläufer comfort shoes!

Anyone who has to deal with foot problems, such as hallux valgus, has most likely come into contact with comfort shoes more than once – and with the prejudice that often the focus is much more on comfort than on appearance. With our comprehensive range of stylish and comfortable shoes, we at Waldläufer prove that these factors are not mutually exclusive. Whether men’s or women’s styles, whether sandals or winter boots, whether slightly wider or very wide: with Waldläufer, everyone will find what they are looking for.

In addition to the standard widths G and H for normal or broader feet, we also offer widths K for wide and M for particularly wide fitting. The width plays an important role when buying shoes as well as in foot health, which is why we are constantly expanding our range from G to M. Summer sandals and mules, stylish sneakers, elegant business shoes, cozy warm ankle boots or robust hiking boots – Waldläufer is diverse, both in our production and in our range.

Experience unmistakable Waldläufer foot comfort and find your favourite style, either as an end customer in our online shop, as a dealer in our B2B shop or at your local retailer.
